The House of Bellourne · Assurances

How a piece reaches you.

Shipping, care, returns and provenance, written plainly in one place, along with the honest limits of work made by hand in small numbers.

  • Shipping

Every piece leaves the House packed by hand, insured, and followed by a written note.

    • Orders are confirmed in writing the moment they are placed. A tracking note follows the moment the piece leaves us.
    • Pieces held in the House are dispatched within three working days. Pieces made or reserved to order are dispatched in the order in which they were reserved, on the timing written on the piece's own page.
    • United Kingdom delivery is tracked and signed for. International delivery is tracked, insured and signed for, and travels with the House's documentation.
    • Duties, import taxes and customs charges outside the United Kingdom are set by the destination country and remain the buyer's responsibility.
    • Fragrance travels as a restricted good. Some destinations, carriers and services cannot accept it, and we will say so before taking an order where that applies.
    • Delivery estimates are estimates. Carriers, customs and weather are outside our control, and a date given here or at checkout is not a guaranteed delivery date.
  • Care

Made to last, on the understanding that it will be looked after.

    • Keep fragrance upright, closed, away from direct light and away from heat. A cool, dark shelf is better than a bathroom and better than a window.
    • Fragrance is best used within twenty-four months of opening. Natural materials continue to move after bottling: colour may deepen slightly and the opening may soften. This is normal and is not a fault.
    • Paper, cloth and leather should be kept dry and out of direct sun. Dust with a soft, dry cloth; never use solvents or household cleaners.
    • Marks, patina and small irregularities are the record of a thing being made and used by hand, not a defect.
    • If a piece needs attention, write to the House before attempting a repair. Work carried out elsewhere may end any remedy we would otherwise offer.
  • Returns

Plainly stated, and never conditional on how you word the request.

    • Unopened, unused pieces in their original packaging may be returned within fourteen days of delivery for a refund of the price paid.
    • For hygiene and safety reasons, opened fragrance cannot be returned unless it is faulty.
    • A reservation or pre-order may be cancelled for a full refund at any time before dispatch. Simply write to the House.
    • If a piece arrives damaged or faulty, tell us within fourteen days of delivery and we will repair, replace or refund it, including reasonable return postage.
    • Return postage on a change of mind is the buyer's. Please use a tracked service; until it reaches us, the piece remains your responsibility.
    • Refunds are issued to the original payment method, in the currency of the original order, within fourteen days of the piece or the cancellation reaching us.
    • Your statutory rights are unaffected by anything written here. Full terms are set out on the Terms page.
  • Provenance

What we record about each piece, and what we will tell you if you ask.

    • For every piece we record where it was made, by whom or by which workshop, what it is made from, and the size of the run.
    • Country of manufacture is stated on the piece's own page. Évren is made in France.
    • Runs are small and numbered where the piece allows it. When a run is finished, it is not quietly repeated.
    • We do not describe a material as rare, natural or hand-made unless the workshop has told us so and we have seen the work.
    • If a piece has been refinished, restored or reissued, that is written on its page rather than left for you to discover.
    • Ask us anything we have not published about a piece and we will answer honestly, including when the answer is that we do not know.

Subject to change

Notes, materials and dates can move. Here is exactly how, and what it means for your order.

  1. Notes, materials and compositions described on this site are indicative. They describe the intended character of a piece, not a fixed specification.

  2. Our pieces are made in small batches from natural materials whose quality, colour and yield vary by harvest, by region and by season. The House may refine a formulation, its notes, its finish or its presentation before dispatch.

  3. Colour, grain, weight, fill level and finish may vary between individual pieces and may differ slightly from photography on this site, which is affected by screens and lighting.

  4. Release dates, reservation dates and dispatch windows are estimates given in good faith and may move.

  5. Prices, taxes and delivery charges may change without notice. The price that applies to your order is the price shown at the moment the order is confirmed, in the currency shown at checkout.

  6. Where a material becomes unavailable or fails our inspection, we would rather delay a piece, substitute a comparable material of equal or better quality, or cancel and refund the order in full than release work we are not satisfied with. Where a substitution is material, we will tell you before dispatch and you may cancel for a full refund.

  7. Nothing on this page or on any product page forms a binding specification, guarantee or warranty of a particular result, and no description here is an offer capable of acceptance until your order is confirmed in writing by the House.

  8. Any statutory rights you have as a consumer, including in respect of goods that are faulty or not as described, are unaffected by this page. Bellourne Ltd is registered in England. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
